Cybersecurity is one of the largest business risks to most OMS practices. Hackers are continually finding ways to exploit practices and their staff. Because understanding how to defend themselves seems daunting, many practices simply hope a cyberattack won’t happen to them. This interactive session will convey simple steps to build a cyber defense that OMSs and staff can utilize on both personal and shared devices to protect their practices. Examples will be utilized to show attendees possible risks and how to mitigate them.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
Explain the ways that social engineering mines for personal data to be used against individuals and businesses in a hack.
Define how cybersecurity is not one single practice and is rather a collection of defenses and behaviors.
Understand how the most important tool in one’s cyber defense is one’s own behavior.
