Presenters will share how their surgeon-led management model enabled them to envision and create a DEI and community engagement strategy, roadmap and actions to enhance surgeon, patient and teammate experience. The session will present benefits of how a surgeon leader and business leader worked in a dyad model to enhance the design and execution of their DEI strategy and plan while aligning with overall organizational business goals. Attendees will learn how to design and execute their own strategy.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
  1. Discuss the benefits of and create a business case for a DEI and community engagement strategy and plan.
  2. Identify the specific steps necessary to create and implement a DEI and community engagement plan.
  3. Develop and implement the steps necessary to create and work in a dyad leadership model.
