This session will review an update of contemporary surgical techniques associated with head and neck reconstruction. Compelling evidence will be discussed for reconstructive options in complex and challenging reconstructive scenarios.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
  1. Discuss the essential nature and types of reconstruction of lower and upper lip ablative defects.
  2. Define the principles of virtual surgery planning for soft-tissue reconstruction of the head and neck.
  3. Analyze the specifics associated with nerve reconstruction of the trigeminal nerve.
  4. Evaluate the options for soft- and hard-tissue reconstruction in the patient with the vessel-depleted neck.
  5. Discuss the unique nature of microvascular reconstructive surgery in pediatric patients.
