The evolving mindset of DSOs is to find ways to bring specialty care in-house, either by employment or by using independent contractors. The greatest industry challenge is providing safe, in-office general anesthesia to support the surgical services, and the industry needs the experience of the OMS specialty to provide leadership in patient safety and document the outcomes of the office anesthesia model. Newly implemented digital anesthesia tools make this affiliation a predictable practice model for the OMS who is interested in the mobile surgery practice. This course will review the critical design elements, regulations and technology that must be contemplated before entering this space.
