The course will discuss the different causes of articular pain and dysfunction as it relates to the TMJ. In addition, participants will be provided with updates on TMJ injectable therapeutics including platelet-rich plasma, platelet-rich fibrin, stem cell therapy and other alternatives to steroids by providing current data and analysis as to how each functions in the setting of intra-articular pain and dysfunction as a stand-alone therapy as well as combined with each other and associated surgical procedures.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

Define and classify intra-atricular pain and dysfunction associated with the TMJ.
List injectable therapeutics used to intra-articular pain and dysfunction and describe the data driven outcomes when used individually.
Explain the use of injectable therapeutics as it relates to intra-articular pain and dysfunction as combined therapy (including surgery).
