GP1d - Utility of BRAF V600E Immunohistochemistry in the Diagnosis of Mandibular Ameloblastomas

This session will review up to date information regarding pathologic conditions of great interest to oral and maxillofacial surgery practice. The nuances of MRONJ diagnosis, treatment, and postoperative complications; ameloblastoma diagnosis; and jaw sarcoma prognosis are discussed.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
  1. Discuss the risk of MRONJ in pediatric patients treated with antiresorptive medications.
  2. Discuss the use of BRAF V600E immunohistochemistry in the diagnosis of ameloblastomas of the jaws.
  3. Review the risk factors for infection recurrence following surgical resection of MRONJ.
  4. Discuss the prognostic factors associated with head and neck sarcomas.
