GP4d - Reconstruction Track: Hot-off-the-Press and Abstract Session

This session reviews new information regarding free flap reconstruction of the jaws, the outcomes of nerve graft reconstruction, quality of life of maxillofacial reconstruction patients, and other elements of reconstruction in our specialty.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
  1. Discuss the use of the Synthes reamer irrigator aspirator in the reconstruction of mandibular defects,
  2. Discuss the outcomes and potential complications of the placement of immediate implant placement and prosthetic rehabilitation of fibular microvascular flap reconstruction of the jaws.
  3. Discuss the use of virtual surgery planning in reconstruction of the maxilla.
  4. Discuss functional sensory recovery of immediate nerve grafting of the inferior alveolar nerve.
  5. Discuss the effects of free flap surgery on the larynx and the difficulty index associated with intubation of patients.
