Dr. Edward C. Adlesic received his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1980 and then completed an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1984.
He returned to Pittsburgh and established a private practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery that he maintained from 1984 to 2015. During that time, he served as Chief of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital for 18 years, and served in the United States Army Reserves from 1988 to 1998 being activated for Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
In 2015, he accepted a faculty position at the University of Pittsburgh as an Assistant Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a dual appointment in the Department of Dental Anesthesiology which he currently maintains. Dr. Adlesic is a Fellow in AAOMS and is the Chair of the Committee on Anesthesia. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was on the Oral Examination Committee of ABOMS.
Dr. Adlesic is a Fellow in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology. He is a past Director and the current President Elect of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
