Suzanne U. Stucki-McCormick, MS, DDS, began her career initially in Private Practice/ Academics in New York City, where she worked with Dr. J. McCarthy on the development of the Distraction Osteogenesis technique. She then became Professor and Chair, Loma Linda University and then moved to Private Practice in Encinitas, California. Uniquely, Dr. McCormick was appointed to serve on the Dental Board for the State of California and served as its President for two terms.
She currently is involved with teaching in the Department of OMFS, UCLA and with research in genomic testing for medication metabolism. Dr. McCormick is a Section Editor for the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She also served on the ABOMS Examination Committee as an Examiner, and now as District VI Liaison for ABOMS. Her passion is surfing, yet is still mastering the art of the pop up.
