Brian Christensen, DDS, MD is an Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Geisinger Health System. Dr. Christensen completed his undergraduate and dental education at University of Washington and then moved to New Orleans, LA for his residency training in the six-year program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center – New Orleans. During this time, he also completed his Medical Degree and a yearlong Internship in General Surgery. Following the completion of his residency in 2019, Dr. Christensen joined the full-time faculty in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at LSUHSC – New Orleans. After serving in this position for 4 years, Dr. Christensen moved to Pennsylvania, where he has continued his love for clinical excellence, scientific innovation and educational dedication at Geisinger Health System. In addition to practicing a wide spectrum of maxillofacial surgery, including the surgical treatment of craniomaxillofacial deformities, maxillofacial trauma and temporomandibular joint disorders for both adults and children, Dr. Christensen is heavily involved in resident education and clinical research. He is currently the author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and serves as a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
