Martin Haugstad was born and raised in Wisconsin, where his early passion for science and patient care began to shape his future. He graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology along with a Certificate in Entrepreneurship. During his undergraduate years, Martin was actively involved in peer education and researching immune-mediated diseases.
Driven to merge his scientific interests with his desire to care for others, Martin pursued further education at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Currently completing the fourth year of the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, Martin has excelled in academic coursework, research, extra-curricular leadership, and clinical practice.
Martin aspires to specialize in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a field that aligns with his interests in medicine, dentistry, and caring for others’ most acute needs. He is committed to contributing to the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery through continued research involvement, patient care, and innovation.
Beyond his professional ambitions, Martin enjoys spending time outdoors competing in local running and cycling events. He loves spending time in the kitchen and sharing a meal with friends and family.
