Chris S Kim DMD MD MSE is the chief resident of LSU Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program in New Orleans. He attended UC San Diego on Jacobs Scholarship, and graduated top in Bioengineering major. After pursuing his first career in biotech industry, Dr. Kim was dually accepted to dental school and engineering graduate school at UPenn on Dean’s Scholarship. His academic achievements and clinical excellence earned him the greatest number of graduation awards and honors distinctions in his class: research, clinical dentistry, community service and medically complex care. Upon graduation, he was recruited to the fastest growing multi-specialty group practice in the Greater Atlanta, and had a busy practice limited to cosmetic dentistry, dental implants and oral surgery. In 2019, he started his broad scope surgical training at LSU OMFS New Orleans combined with medical school to pursue his career aspiration in OMFS under guidance of world-renowned faculties. Even early in his career, he coauthored on numerous scientific articles on tissue engineering, nanotechnology, biomechanics, dental materials and facial trauma, and an textbook chapters on facial reconstruction surgery. After graduation, he plans to practice in Atlanta, Georgia with emphasis on dentoalveolar surgery, ambulatory anesthesia, complex dental implant rehabilitation, advanced hard & soft tissue grafting, facial trauma, orthognathic surgery and reconstruction surgery.
