Kamal Busaidy, DDS, FDSRCS(Eng), FACS, is Vice-Chair and Professor in the Katz Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UTHealth-Houston. He obtained his dental degree from the University of London, UK, and his oral and maxillofacial surgery specialty certification from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2002. He has been director of the Hinds Academy Clinical Simulation Facility for 11 years, and regularly teaches management of medical and anesthesia related emergencies to doctors and nurses in several hospitals throughout the Texas Medical Center, using high-fidelity simulators. As a member of the Committee on Anesthesia of the AAOMS, Dr Busaidy teaches contemporary office-based anesthesia techniques to oral and maxillofacial surgeons and clinical assistants across the country. Dr Busaidy is an examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Fellow of the National Dental Board of Anesthesia, the American College of Surgeons, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons, and the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Faculty of Dentistry.
