Derrick C. Nelson, MD, DDS is a chief resident in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. He attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, Medical school at UNC-Chapel Hill, and completed an intern year in General Surgery with UNC- Hospitals, NC. His areas of interest in OMS include Orthognathic, Craniofacial, Trauma, Dental Implants, and Medical management. When not treating patients or working on a research project, Derrick enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, hiking in the western NC mountains, attending sporting events, and catching up on the latest car reviews.
