Annika Johnson is currently a resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Minnesota, where she also completed her dental education. Her academic journey has been distinguished by a strong commitment to research and multi-year projects, spanning from her early years in dental school into her residency. Annika has been actively involved in research within the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, focusing on topics such as odontogenic infection protocols, splatter distribution in third molar extractions, and local anesthesia training in a COVID virtual model, and Fanconi Anemia.
Annika’s dedication to research is highlighted by her publications and presentations, including presenting her work at prestigious conferences such as the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Next Gen Conference and the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Annual Session. Her commitment to excellence is further evidenced by her honors and awards, including the IAOMS/ALACIBU NextGen Online Conference Recognition of Excellence and multiple University of Minnesota Academic Excellence Awards.
Outside of her rigorous academic and professional life, Annika enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through fitness classes, run clubs, and evening walks. She finds joy in exploring new recipes, spending quality time with her family, and traveling across the world.
