Dr. Luis Vega is Associate Professor and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program Director at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Vega received his DDS degree from the University of Costa Rica and his OMS certificate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Vega is board certified and diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). He is also fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (AAOMS), the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (IAOMS), the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons (AACMFS). Dr. Vega is a prior recipient of the AAOMS Faculty Educator Development Award and currently serves on the AAOMS Committee on Continuing Education and Professional Development (CCEPD). Dr. Vega’s clinical practice covers the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. His educational endeavors have granted him the opportunity to lecture at the local, national, and international arenas in the areas of TMJ reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, obstructive sleep apnea surgery, complex maxillofacial reconstruction utilizing zygomatic implants as well as endoscopy in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
