The best way to avoid post-traumatic deformities is to prevent them from happening. Applying the principles of craniomaxillofacial reduction and fixation at the time of the initial surgery will improve the outcome. Despite advances in the field of craniomaxillofacial surgery, patients still may end up with significant post-traumatic facial deformities. This course will demonstrate how to adapt and apply the advances in elective management of dentofacial deformities in the management post-traumatic facial deformities.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
  1. Examine etiologies of post-traumatic facial deformities.
  2. Explain how to prevent post-traumatic facial deformities.
  3. Examine utilization of computer-assisted navigation in the surgical management of post-traumatic facial deformities.
