This session will review immunology in oncology, current guidelines for immunotherapy in head and neck cancer and areas of active research on the horizon.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
  1. Describe the cells and interactions involved with immuno-oncology.
  2. Analyze differing checkpoint inhibitors used in treatment of head and neck cancer, when they are used, and their advantages and disadvantages.
  3. Discuss new strategies for immunotherapy being investigated.
