Dr. McKenna is a graduate of the UCLA School of Dentistry and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. McKenna is Professor and Chairman of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Prior to assuming the Chair position, Dr. McKenna was the residency program director for nearly 20 years. He has a busy academic/hospital-based practice that encompasses the full traditional scope of clinical practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery with an emphasis on orthognathic, facial trauma, cleft, oral and maxillofacial pathology, and temporomandibular joint surgery.
