Dr. Rabie Shanti is an Associate Professor and Program Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Rutgers University. Dr. Shanti obtained his D.M.D. (Magna Cum Laude) from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and his M.D. from New Jersey Medical School. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training at Rutgers University/University Hospital in Newark, NJ. He has completed a two-year research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, which was sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, as well as, a two-year clinical fellowship in head and neck surgery/microvascular reconstruction at Louisiana State University Health Sciences in Shreveport. Aside from maintaining an active surgical practice devoted to the care of patients with benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck, he maintains an active research program focused on tumor biology, regenerative medicine, and clinical outcomes. Dr. Shanti has been the recipient of multiple clinical/teaching awards and research grants, and most recently was the recipient of the Faculty Educator Development Award (FEDA) in 2021.
