This course examines updates in employment and personnel law regulations, as well as best practices for employee manuals. Attendees will discuss “hot button” issues such as harassment, discrimination, bullying and abuse of social media. The course also reviews and updates federal employment laws that impact personnel policies and employment actions.

Discuss key provisions of employee manuals and how best to word the manuals to protect the practice from unwanted liabilities or obligations.
Define key aspects of various federal laws impacting the duties of the practice in relation to the employment of staff, including anti-discrimination, benefits and wages.
Analyze recent developments in health law, personnel and ethics, such as HIPAA, Anti-Kickback and Stark laws, licensure and scope of practice updates.
