Joseph W. Gallagher, JD, LLM is a shareholder, attorney and consultant with The Health Care Group, Health Care Law Associates, P.C. and Health Care Consulting, Inc. He has represented dental and medical professionals and their practice organizations for over twenty-five years on a wide variety of legal and business matters. With specialty representation of oral and maxillofacial surgery practices, Joe has extensive experience with co-ownership arrangements, practice sales, federal health law and compliance issues, practice valuations, and in structuring contractual arrangements (such as buy-in and pay-out, practice dispositions, employment agreements, mergers and joint ventures). His areas of expertise include health law and compliance, contracts, taxes and employee benefits. He designs and implements group compensation plans, deferred compensation arrangements and tax-favored retirement plans. Joe has lectured and written for numerous groups, societies and publications. He is a contributing author on numerous AAOMS-sponsored publications and has been the publisher and editor of On Managing (a monthly newsletter for medical/dental office managers).
