Oral and maxillofacial surgeon
Quincy Medical Group
Quincy, Illinois
Dr. Sheffield received her Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She completed her residency and internship in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
After private practice in Southeast Iowa and serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Iowa, Dr. Sheffield joined Quincy Medical Group in 2018, a large multi-specialty physicians group in Western Illinois. Passionate about advocating for and supporting women and minorities in our great specialty and the impact of improper antibiotic use in our practices and our communities at large, you may recognize Dr. Sheffield as a returning speaker at the AAOMS Annual Meeting or at other conferences and educational events. She loves interacting with the public and other providers on social media and as a guest podcaster.
When Dr. Sheffield isn’t working, she loves spending time with her three young children and her husband. She volunteers as a member of the QMG Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, Ambulatory Care Surgery Committee, and is the president of the Quincy Montessori School Board. She played lacrosse in college and dental school and was a certified SCUBA instructor in another life. She enjoys piano, fitness, and working on her 130 year old historic home. As a native Utahn, she misses the mountains but has embraced Midwest living -- even though her Iowa husband is just now teaching her to ski in middle age!
