Jaclyn Tomsic, DMD, MD, FACS

Oral and maxillofacial surgeon

Dr. Tomsic is a board certified, dual degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon. She enjoys practicing full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery on patients of all ages in her hometown area of Cleveland, OH. She especially enjoys delving into the complexities that the intersection of medicine and dentistry offer in the specialty of OMFS.
Dr. Tomsic completed her surgery and medical training at the Detroit Medical Center. She then completed a one-year fellowship in jaw reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, facial plastic surgery and sleep apnea surgery at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Posnick. She completed a second fellowship year in St. Louis, MO focusing on TMJ, facial cosmetics and trauma surgery. Finally she worked for many years at Level I trauma center Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. During her tenure at Mercy she proudly obtained Fellowship in the American College of Surgeons in 2017.
Having trained and worked in places like Detroit and St. Louis, she gained a strong background in trauma, which is one of her favorite surgeries to be involved with. She also enjoys all things dento-alveolar: third molars, extractions, dental implants, bone grafting, sinus lift surgery, bone recontouring. Her other clinical interests include orthognathic surgery, benign pathology, TMj surgery, facial cosmetics and anesthesia. One aspect of OMFS she enjoys the most is the opportunity to collaborate with her medical and dental colleagues to help treat patients as a whole, as many oral surgeries involve a team approach. Getting the patient across the finish line with a smile, either natural or reconstructed, is a great feeling.
In her free time, Dr. Tomsic enjoys traveling with her family and friends, country music, is a huge sports fan – especially Cleveland teams, is an avid fitness junkie and passionate about Peloton. She is a huge advocate for women in surgery and has fun sharing her surgery and life experiences on social media.
